Eva Weicken

Eva Weicken is Chief Medical Officer in the Applied Machine Learning Group in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute for Telecommunications in Berlin. She studied medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and did her residency in neurology including intensive care and psychiatry rotations. After many years of clinical practice and with the growing presence of AI in medicine she wanted to dive deeper into this field. In her research, she is particularly interested in finding solutions for the safe, fair, and effective use and implementation of AI in health which requires an interdisciplinary approach. She takes part in the international standardization initiative of the ITU/WHO Focus Group on “AI for Health” as co-chair of the working group “Clinical Evaluation of AI for Health” and working group “Operations”. Further activities in this field on a national level include participation in the development of the “DIN Standardization Roadmap for Artificial Intelligence
