AI for Good is launching three competitions to highlight the transformative power of AI in driving innovation and collaboration, artistic expression, and storytelling. The AI for Good Impact Awards, the AI for Good Film Festival and the second edition of Canvas of the Future will provide a global platform to celebrate AI-driven solutions, creativity, and social impact.
These competitions aim to showcase how AI is shaping the future across multiple domains, honoring initiatives that leverage technology for social good, fostering creativity in digital art, and redefining storytelling in film. Winners from all three initiatives will be awarded at the AI for Good Global Summit in July 2025 in Geneva.
The first-ever AI for Good Impact Awards
The AI for Good Impact Awards celebrate groundbreaking AI-driven solutions that tackle global challenges. Organized by the International Telecommunication Union, in partnership with Tech To The Rescue, these awards honor sustainable, ethical, and impactful AI applications that address critical global challenges.
The awards recognize excellence in three categories:
- AI for People: AI projects improving well-being, education, equality, and social inclusion.
- AI for Planet: AI innovations promoting sustainability, support climate action, and protect natural ecosystems.
- AI for Prosperity: AI solutions fostering economic growth, industry innovation, and social progress.

Setting these awards apart is the Pro Bono Collaboration recognition, a pioneering effort that highlights the power of partnerships between tech companies and changemakers. Integrated across all three AI for Good Impact Award categories, this award recognizes collaborative projects where technology leaders contribute their expertise to non-profits, social enterprises, and mission-driven organizations. By fostering innovation through cooperation, the Pro Bono Collaboration Award ensures that AI is applied where it is needed most, aligning cutting-edge technology with urgent global challenges.
The AI for Good Impact Awards will conclude with an awards ceremony at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, where the winning projects will be showcased to a global audience.

The second edition of Canvas of the Future: From telegraph to AI, celebrating 160 years of innovation
AI for Good is launching the second edition of Canvas of the Future, a competition that invites artists, AI innovators, and creatives to explore the intersection of AI, art, and sustainability.
This year’s theme celebrates ITU’s 160-year legacy, calling on participants to contribute to the global dialogue on the role of technology in shaping the future of digital connectivity, bridging divides, and contributing to a more connected and sustainable world.
Using ethically sourced AI tools, participants are challenged to create original, visionary digital artworks that reflect themes of digital innovation, inclusivity, and global challenges.
The winner will be invited to Geneva to showcase their work at the AI for Good Global Summit 2025, gaining international recognition through the AI for Good platform.

The premiere of the AI for Good Film Festival
The AI for Good Film Festival is an international competition dedicated to exploring how AI is transforming storytelling and filmmaking. This initiative celebrates short films where AI plays a crucial role, whether in scriptwriting, visual effects, production techniques, or as a central theme, while emphasizing the importance of human talent in the creative process.
Filmmakers, technologists, and creatives are invited to submit AI-assisted short films (1 to 10 minutes in length) that push the boundaries of cinematic storytelling, ethical AI, and the future of digital content creation. Submissions should demonstrate how AI and technology can influence the world, and adhere to ethical filmmaking practices, such as responsible AI use, respect for intellectual property rights, and proper licensing of materials.
Finalists will be invited to Geneva for the AI for Good Global Summit 2025, where their films will be screened to an international audience.
