Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Frederic Werner is a recognized leader at the intersection of artificial intelligence, technology, and global development. As the Chief of Strategic Engagement at ITU, the United Nations’ specialized agency for Digital Technologies, and Chief of Strategy and Operations for AI for Good, Frederic drives initiatives that shape the future of AI’s role in solving humanity’s greatest challenges.Frederic is a co-creator of the United Nations AI for Good Global Summit, a landmark platform connecting AI innovators with real-world problem owners to collectively advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Under his stewardship, AI for Good has become a global hub for innovation, collaboration, and actionable solutions, redefining how AI is used for social good.At ITU, Frederic leads transformative strategic initiatives, driving global collaboration in digital transformation and standards development to address critical challenges. His leadership ensures the organization remains a leader in setting international standards and leveraging AI to advance the SDGs.Before joining ITU, Frederic held pivotal roles that shaped global ICT collaboration. As Communications & Program Director of ETIS in Brussels, he established a pan-European network of CIOs and cybersecurity leaders. Earlier, as Head of Marketing and Communications at the European Organization for Conformity Assessment, he spearheaded capacity-building projects with the European Commission, strengthening ICT infrastructures in EU candidate countries.A recognized figure in the AI sphere, Frederic is a regular keynote speaker and panellist at global tech and AI events, such as Davos, Vivatech, SXSW, World AI Festival Cannes, AI Africa Expo, World AI Summit Amsterdam, AWS Reinvent and GITEX to name a few. His insights on AI capacity building, governance and standards have led to numerous interviews and features across international media, books, and podcasts.Academically, Frederic holds a B.A. in Business & Human Resources Management with a Communications Minor from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, an MBA in International Business from United Business Institutes, a Technical MBA in Telecoms Technology from Informa Telecoms, and a certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management on AI’s Business Strategy Implications.Having lived in diverse countries such as Belgium, Senegal, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Austria, Turkey, Hungary, and Switzerland, Frederic brings a unique and

Ayda Dabiri is AI for Good’s Business Analytics and Online Community officer. Ayda has been on the AI for Good team since its inception in 2017, working on the annual in-person events, as well as the “all year, always online” programme that started in early 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic and the content and community platform, the “Neural Network”, that launched in 2022. Additionally, Ayda was a member of the Secretariat of the ITU/WHO Focus Group on AI for Health (FG-AI4H) from 2018 to 2022. Her experience with ITU also includes supporting the ITU Telecom World conference in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2016, and completing an internship with the organization in 2015. Prior to rejoining ITU to work on AI for Good, Ayda was a Business Intelligence Analyst at GSMA in London, UK, where she provided data analytics and strategic insights for two of their Mobile for Development programmes working on health and agriculture.

Ayda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Canada and a Certificate of Higher Education in Infection and Immunity from the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education.

Theadora Mills is a creative communications manager specializing in strategic outreach, digital marketing, website content creation, SEO, and social media management.

She is a dedicated professional with over 10 years of experience at United Nations’ agencies and NGOs bringing together her passion for connecting people, storytelling and sustainable development. As the Digital Marketing Manager at AI for Good, she leverages her skills and expertise to bridge the gap between technology, policy, and social impact with the aim to drive positive social change.

She holds her M.A. in Communication and Culture from York University and B.A. in Communications and Business from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her academic foundation in cross-cultural communication combined with international experience in Thailand, Canada, USA, and Switzerland enables her to connect with diverse communities. She is committed to empowering others and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Outside of work, Theadora is passionate about outdoor adventure and supporting animal rescue activities. She is an Advanced Scuba Diver, a bike-to-work enthusiast, and a proud and busy new mom.

With a strong belief that ICT can connect and bring better life to people, Jinu Um joined the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 2016.

He works in the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) and is looking into new trends such as artificial intelligence, digital finance, and smart cities to find possibilities for human good.

Before joining ITU, Jinu has started his professional career at the Korea Communications Agency (KCA) in 2001. His main focus was on global cooperation and international organization in the field of ICT. In coordination with Korean government and Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), he has established an international training program on spectrum management for decision makers from developing countries.

He also played a role as project management officer to support administering national projects on “Next Generation Broadcasting”.

From 2012, he worked for the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), Republic of Korea and was one of the core organizing member of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2014 (PP-14) and OECD Science & Technology Ministerial Meeting 2015.

Jinu was awarded “Prime Minister Citation, Republic of Korea” for international cooperation in 2015.

He holds BSc in Electronic Engineering and received master’s degree in Media Communication & Interactive Media from Sogang University, Republic of Korea.

Guillem Martinez Roura is the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics Programme Officer at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for digital technologies. He leads strategic initiatives that shape the role of AI and robotics in tackling global challenges, fostering international collaboration on capacity building and standards development. His work is dedicated to ensuring that AI and robotics are harnessed to deliver real-world impact and support inclusive, sustainable progress worldwide.
Guillem began his robotics journey participating in international tournaments and, at 15, co-founded an educational robotics competition in Barcelona. For over eight years, he led the initiative, transforming it into a leading open-source championship that engaged thousands of students each year, work he has continued at the ITU.
Before joining ITU at the age of 23. he served as the EU Policy Assistant at the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to the European Union and as the International Relations Assistant at the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia to Switzerland. He also worked as a legal trainee at Montesinos Abogados.
Guillem is a Global Shaper, a Sigma Squared Society Fellow, and a Nova member. He has been an European Commission Expert Evaluator and Reviewer, a Diplocat Scholar, an EU Careers Student Ambassador, a EUTOPIA Student Career Ambassador, POLITICO’s EU Studies and Career Fair Ambassador, a UNICAT Ambassador, and a member of the 1st EUSALP Youth Council.
On the academic front, Guillem holds a double bachelor’s degree in Law and Business Management and Administration from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. He also participated in the one-year Swiss-European Mobility Program in Law at the University of Geneva, earning a Certificate in Transnational Law. He completed a master’s degree in International Law at the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies (IHEID), Geneva, and participated in the 59th Graduate Study Program at the United Nations Office in Geneva.

Robert is a Digital Media Producer & Videographer for AI for Good at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for ICT’s. He has 3 year’s experience producing and managing digital media & video content for both AI for Good and ITU-T’s major public facing events. He recieved a Distinction in his Diploma in Art and Design Foundation Studies – Media, Film and Photography at Arts University Bournemouth. Robert has a background in freelance film-making with experience across all 5 phases of production.

My 30 year career journey has been and continues to be as a member of the United Nations ITU team, committed to improving lives through technology. This means I get the opportunity to work with ICT leaders from governments, especially from least developed and developing countries, as well as from private sector large corporates, international organizations, innovation hubs/accelerators and an impressive set of tech startups and SMEs.

It is inspiring to be part of some amazing heart-warming success stories arising from key ITU events, most notably its AI for Good – I’m so proud to be a part of this dynamic team!

Within the AI for Good team Julien plays a pivotal role in managing the intricate logistics of the AI for Good Global Summit, as well as the technical delivery of all virtual webinars including the seamless operation of the neural networking platform, ensuring a dynamic and interactive virtual experience.

Julien’s career journey has seen him travel the world, directing and managing events of all sizes and budgets. He began his journey as a Technical Production Manager, where his meticulous attention to detail and technical skills established him as a trusted expert in orchestrating flawless event experiences.

Progressing in his career, Julien assumed the role of a Global Account Director, cultivating robust client relationships with industry giants such as HP, Oracle, and Microsoft, delivering unique and tailor-made events.

Julien has also demonstrated his leadership skills as a Regional Office Manager, guiding teams to success both locally and on a global scale.

Throughout his career, Julien has consistently delivered excellence, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. His wealth of experience and expertise makes him a driving force in the dynamic worlds of technology, events, and client relations.

Ms. Yapeng Wang is a Programme Officer at the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, working in the Strategic Engagement Department on AI and emerging technology initiatives. She also serves as the Secretary of the ITU Impact Initiative, where she advances innovation for impact and leads projects such as AI Readiness. In addition, she is responsible for the AI for Good Summit’s engagement in China and across the Asia region, fostering partnerships, outreach, and participation to strengthen AI collaboration globally. Her work also includes membership management, driving global AI capacity-building projects, and spearheading sponsorship efforts for key ITU events.

Prior to joining ITU, Ms. Wang was Deputy Director at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), where she played a pivotal role in fostering international cooperation and enhancing China’s contributions to ITU.

Alongside her professional career, Ms. Wang is a Ph.D. candidate at Aarhus University, focusing her research on network neutrality and emerging technologies. She has contributed to numerous high-impact publications, including conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters. Her expertise spans deep learning, AI, big data, and mobile multimedia, and she also holds a master’s degree in business administration and engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

Venkatesen Mauree is the Head of the Strategic Tech and Academia Initiatives Division, Standardization Bureau at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). He joined the ITU in 2010 and has over 30 years of experience in project management and cybersecurity. He leads the work of TSB for academia initiatives, AI Skills development and the AI Impact Initiative. He coordinates the work for the AI and Multimedia Authenticity Standards Collaboration and the AI Standards Exchange Database under the World Standards Cooperation. He manages the collaboration with OpenWallet Foundation for the OpenWallet Forum project which aims at global interoperability for digital wallets and credentials. He assists the OpenWallet Forum Government Consultative Committee in its work on government policies for digital wallets. He leads the ITU Digital Financial Services Security Lab which conducts security audits on mobile payment applications used in emerging economies and provides technical assistance to telecom regulators in emerging economies to enhance security of digital finance and adoption of international standards and best practices for security of digital financial inclusion and fintech. He supervises the Academia activities such as the Kaleidoscope academic conference and the publication of the ITU Journal

Alessia Magliarditi is the ITU Journal and ITU-T Academia Coordinator within the Strategic Tech and Academia Initiatives Division of the Strategic Engagement Department at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB). She leads academic engagement activities, fostering collaboration with universities and research institutions worldwide, and coordinates key initiatives such as the ITU Kaleidoscope academic conferences.

She also manages the publications and webinars of the ITU Journal on Future and Evolving Technologies (ITU J-FET), ITU’s open-access scholarly journal dedicated to research on emerging technologies.

Since joining ITU in 2006, Alessia has held roles in strategic engagement, partnerships, and external relations. Prior to ITU, she worked at the International Labour Organization (ILO), where she developed partnerships with international organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions.

She holds Master’s degrees in Social Sciences from La Sapienza University of Rome and in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies from LUMSA University. She is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, French, and Spanish.

Erica Campilongo has been part of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN specialized agency for ICTs, since 2011. Today, she works in the Strategic Tech and Academia Initiatives Division of the ITU Standardization Bureau, where she helps build meaningful bridges between the ITU and universities, laboratories, and research institutions around the world. She enjoys connecting people and ideas, and supporting collaborations that advance shared knowledge in technology and innovation.

As a publishing editor, Erica contributes to the editorial direction and production of two international peer‑reviewed journals – the ITU Journal on Future and Evolving Technologies (ITU J‑FET) and Intelligent and Converged Networks. She also plays an active role in the ITU Kaleidoscope academic conferences, coordinating special sessions and shaping the exhibitions that bring cutting‑edge research to a global audience.

Earlier in her ITU career, she worked in the Study Group Division, supporting projects and studies focused on ICTs, climate change and environmental sustainability – topics she remains passionate about.

Before joining ITU, Erica worked at the Permanent Mission of Italy in Geneva and at the European Parliament in Brussels, conducting policy analysis on innovation, humanitarian issues, and social affairs.

Erica holds a BA in International and European Law and an MA in International Relations from the University of Milan, including a study year at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III. She speaks Italian, English, French, Spanish and German, and is always eager to learn from the diverse communities she works with.

Since 2020 I am part of AI for Good, where my primary focus involves conceptualizing, designing, and implementing cutting-edge web-based applications and platforms infused with AI capabilities. I collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the organization, including AI specialists, designers, and domain experts, to craft user-centric solutions.

With a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana, my journey in the field of technology began with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to mastering the complexities of software development.

My dedication to staying at the forefront of industry best practices led me to achieve certifications in ITIL and TOGAF, demonstrating my proficiency in IT service management and enterprise architecture frameworks.

Driven by a passion for innovation and a deep-seated curiosity for emerging technologies, I continue to explore new avenues to contribute meaningfully to the ever-evolving landscape of software engineering…

Celia is a Communications and Social Media Officer in the International Telecommunication Union’s AI for Good team. Her role focuses on executing the marketing and communications strategy for the AI for Good Global Summit and its ongoing online programs. Her responsibilities include event promotion, audience engagement through social media and website articles, content creation, and the analysis of engagement metrics to refine strategies. Her work supports the mission to leverage AI and technology for global positive change.

Celia’s background is distinguished by her multilingual and multicultural capabilities. She holds an M.A. in Translation and Specialized multilingual communication from the University of Geneva. Proficient in five languages, she adeptly integrates her linguistic skills into her role. Since joining the AI for Good team in 2022, Celia has developed a keen interest in using AI as a means to overcome communication barriers and promote global collaboration, aligning with her passions for languages, technology, and building international relationships.

Further distinguishing her background, during her undergraduate studies, Celia was an active member of an association dedicated to promoting Hispanic culture. Through organizing and participating in various cultural events, she not only celebrated but also deepened her commitment to fostering understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures. This experience has been instrumental in shaping her approach to global communication and collaboration.

With a strong belief that human-centered digital technologies are a key resource for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), MinYoung joined the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in April 2024 as a member of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB).

Before joining ITU, MinYoung began her professional career as a lawyer in 2005, advocating for women’s and children’s rights. In 2007, she transitioned to public service, joining the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) in the Republic of Korea. There, she focused on improving the business environment for IT companies by reforming regulations and providing financial support, with a particular emphasis on radio standards and regulatory improvements in healthcare, transportation, and telecommunications.

MinYoung holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Law from Korea University, Republic of Korea.

Her dedication and achievements earned her recognition as an outstanding public official in 2016, when she received the Presidential Award of Korea. In early 2024, she was further honored for her exceptional contributions to regulatory reform with the prestigious Order of Service Merit (Geunjeong Medal), one of the highest honors awarded to public officials in Korea.

She is honored and excited to join ITU in advancing the achievement of the UN SDGs, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable digital future, and collaborating with outstanding team members to achieve these shared goals.

Meghana is a Data Support Consultant with the AI for Good team at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), where she supports digital platforms, website management, and data-driven initiatives that enhance the visibility and impact of global ICT programs.

She holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering and brings experience in business analytics, digital platforms, and international development. Her work focuses on website content management, SEO, analytics, reporting, and digital optimization, helping translate data and technology into effective digital engagement and stakeholder communication.

At ITU, Meghana contributes to AI for Good and Membership initiatives by managing digital platforms, optimizing web content, and supporting data-informed decision-making. She supports the AI for Good Global Summit and co-organized the Digital Wave Stage at WTSA-24, contributing to the successful delivery of international events that bring together governments, industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to advance the responsible use of AI and digital technologies.

Prior to joining ITU, Meghana worked as a Systems Engineer, where she developed enterprise data solutions, optimized ETL workflows, and implemented compliance-focused systems supporting data lifecycle management. She is passionate about leveraging data and digital technologies to foster collaboration, innovation, and meaningful global impact.

Polina Nash is a Junior Project Officer with the AI for Good team at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In this role, she facilitates project management, stakeholder engagement, and speaker coordination for in-person and online events, including the annual AI for Good Global Summit. 

She holds a Master’s degree in International and Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute, a Master’s degree in European and Russian Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. She has interests in international relations, emerging technologies, and their convergence.

Polina is fluent in English and Russian, and she is currently learning French.

Chris is head of media relations for AI for Good.  Prior to working at the ITU, Chris founded Chris Cartwright Communications in Geneva having served as Managing Director of Burson Marsteller, one of the world’s largest PR agencies, in Geneva and Chair of its Technology Practice in Europe, Middle East and Africa where he first worked with ITU.  Prior to moving to Switzerland, he ran Burson Marsteller’s Corporate and Crisis Practice in London, leading a team of 40 issues and crisis experts.

He has headed client mandates across many sectors, including commodities, international organisations, healthcare, aviation and consumer but specialises in tech, media and telecoms with experience running PR campaigns for companies such as HP, Cisco, Huawei, Oracle, Salesforce, AWS and many others. He specialises in C-level communications counsel and connectivity with the global business media, as well as crisis communications.

Chris started his career in technology PR agencies in London, becoming board director of many of London’s leading agencies.

Franck Gutmann serves as a UX/UI and Web Design Consultant with the AI for Good team at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Since joining the team in 2024, he has been central to the digital evolution of the initiative, transforming complex event information and programming into clear, impactful, and modern web interfaces. 

As a designer with a strong background in computer engineering, Franck brings a unique dual perspective to the team. He utilizes high-fidelity Figma mockups to bridge the gap between creative vision and technical implementation, ensuring that every digital product is not only visually engaging but also accessible and mobile-optimized. His hybrid expertise allows him to craft intuitive user experiences while maintaining a deep understanding of the underlying technical requirements and structural feasibility of his work. 

Known for his precision and collaborative mindset, Franck works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain a structured and coherent digital presence. Fluent in French and English, he is dedicated to ensuring that AI for Good’s platforms remain performant and user-centric, effectively supporting the mission to showcase global technological innovation for sustainable development. 

Samy Mosa works as a Web Developer with the AI for Good team at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Since joining ITU in 2025, he has been contributing to the revamping and modernization of ITU web platforms, supporting the preparation of the AI for Good Global Summit, and driving performance and scalability optimizations across digital products. 

As a full-stack developer, Samy focuses on building clean, efficient, and reliable web solutions that enhance user experience and long-term maintainability. He is known for his strong technical expertise, attention to quality, and ability to translate complex requirements into robust implementations. 

Recognized by his colleagues for his creativity, responsiveness, and collaborative mindset, Samy consistently delivers high-quality results while working closely with cross-functional teams. Through his work, he supports AI for Good’s mission by ensuring that its digital platforms remain performant, modern, and accessible to a global audience. 

Hannah is an AI and Robotics Programme Consultant with the AI for Good team at the ITU. She supports programme delivery, communications and editorial content across AI for Good events and initiatives. Before joining ITU, Hannah worked as a Project Lead at the Australian Electoral Commission, held executive support roles and completed a journalism internship with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Her interests include responsible AI, global innovation and the role of communication in connecting emerging technologies with meaningful impact.

Célia Gautier is a Project Support Consultant with the AI for Good team at ITU. Leveraging extensive experience in event organization, project coordination, and stakeholder management, she specializes in sponsorships, logistics, and administrative tasks to ensure the successful delivery of impactful projects.

Her diverse background includes roles such as Executive Assistant, Events Director, Logistics Manager, and Partnerships Manager, with a focus on high-profile sailing and sports initiatives. As a former Business Owner, Célia has honed her ability to manage complex operations, build meaningful relationships, and deliver under pressure.
