Harmonizing global collaborations in AI industry: A Roundtable on the future of AI standardization, regulation and industry development

As a side event to the esteemed AI for Good Global Summit 2024, this roundtable aims to facilitate a collaborative dialogue between key stakeholders in the AI industry, particularly focusing on building bridges between standards, regulations and industry development in AI. Hosted in Geneva, the event brings together prominent organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), alongside other SDO, corporates and governments representatives along with relevant organizations.

Objective:
The objective of this roundtable is to gather three different stakeholders to discuss the global collaborations and harmonization opportunities and challenges in the AI industry development. These three stakeholders are Standardization Development Organizations (SDOs), private sector (telco and non-telco corporates), and public sector (regulatory/governmental or academic) related entities.
The goal is to have an interactive discussion about the gaps, needs, and areas of collaborations among international standards bodies, leading technology companies, and public (regulatory/governmental agencies) to discuss the harmonization of AI industry standardization across the globe, addressing both the technical, regulatory and ethical dimensions of AI technologies
The primary objective of this roundtable is to foster a constructive exchange of ideas, insights, and best practices to address the challenges and opportunities surround in AI industry, and best practices of AI strategy frameworks. Key topics:
