In 2001, Hasselvander begins as “Robotics and AI” Engineer at Peugeot Citroën in charge of the industrialization of the 206. In 2002, he joins the CRIIF, a private research laboratory in robotics (working with CNRS & PARIS 6 University) as R&D engineer and takes over the position of Managing Director in 2007 to transform the CRIIF into a key player in development of advanced intelligent robots in healthcare, education, Assistance, defense, security, surgery, autonomous driving, public works & entertainment. In 2013, Hasselvander participates to the redaction of the political program for Silver economy with Michèle Delaunay (French Minister in charge of Elders) and Arnaud Montebourg (French Minister of re-industrialization). In 2014, Hasselvander founds BLUE FROG ROBOTICS, a cutting edge start-up which aims to become the “Apple of Robots” . Combining “French touch” design, Artificial Intelligence, emotional behaviors and affordable prices, he paves the way of personal robotics revolution. His first world renowned product is BUDDY, the emotional personal robot platform for the whole family, and addresses key issues like Education, Inclusion and Eldercare (“Best Social robot” by Silicon Valley Robotics, “Best Innovation” by Popular Science, Best of innovation award by CES…). He is also the creator of SAMI a life size mobile semi-humanoid assistant robot. In 2014, Hasselvander co-founds the RobotLab, the biggest French start-up accelerator specialized in robotics.

He is also co-founded SILVER VALLEY, a leading French organization focusing on Gerontechnology and sat on the board of CAP DIGITAL, the major European clusters digital creative industries.
