Eva Ibarrola

Eva Ibarrola is a Professor of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain, and a researcher with the Networking Quality and Security (NQaS) research group. Before joining academia, she spent nine years at Telefónica de España, where she gained extensive industrial experience in telecommunications service quality, network management, and service regulation. This combination of industrial and academic experience has strongly influenced her research, which focuses on Quality of Experience (QoE), Quality of Service (QoS), AI and machine learning for network management, and future communication networks. Throughout her career, she has coordinated and participated in numerous national and international research projects, collaborating with universities, research centres, public administrations, and industry. She has published in leading journals and presented her work at major international conferences, and has received several awards recognizing her research contributions. Her work aims to bridge academic research, industrial practice, and international standardization, contributing to the development of innovative methodologies and technologies for the management and optimization of next-generation communication networks.
