Kathrin Cresswell

Professor Kathrin Cresswell is Professor of Digital Innovations in Health and Care at the University of Edinburgh. She is a social scientist whose research focuses on the evaluation, implementation, and governance of digital technologies in health and care systems, including artificial intelligence, electronic health records, decision support systems, robotics, and digital health platforms.

Kathrin has extensive experience leading and evaluating large-scale digital transformation programmes internationally and has advised organisations including the World Health Organization, NHS England, and Harvard Medical School. Her work examines how technological innovation can be safely, equitably, and sustainably embedded within complex health and care systems, with a particular focus on sociotechnical change, implementation, and digital health equity.
