Charles Ssengonzi

Charles Ssengonzi is a Senior Solution Architect at Ericsson South Africa and a PhD candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa. His expertise spans radio access networks (RAN), network modernization, spectrum utilization, and 4G/5G network optimization.
His current research focuses on the application of multi-objective reinforcement learning and hierarchical artificial intelligence for intelligent resource orchestration in O-RAN and network slicing environments. His work investigates adaptive and context-aware mechanisms for balancing competing objectives, including throughput, latency, energy efficiency, and service-level agreement (SLA) compliance in next-generation wireless networks.
His research interests include 5G-Advanced, O-RAN architectures, 6G networks, Network Slicing, Artificial Intelligence for wireless communications, and autonomous network management.
