This session moves from vision to operational reality, showcasing the Strategic AI Partnership for Humanitarian Actions between CERN, LIST, the Government of Luxembourg, and WFP. It highlights how this mature technical alliance has successfully transitioned AI models from research sprints to field deployment, bridging cutting-edge research and humanitarian operations to deliver smarter, faster, and more ethical solutions for food security, disaster response, and humanitarian assurance.

The session will share lessons learned from deploying standards-aligned AI systems in operational settings, including automated Building Damage Assessment, Registration Anomaly Detection, and federated learning approaches that enable privacy-preserving collaboration without exchanging raw data.

It will further explore a unique operating model for cross-agency interoperability, demonstrating how governments, researchers, and humanitarian actors can co-create responsible AI solutions and rapidly operationalize them in some of the world’s most complex emergencies. By bringing together perspectives from fundamental science, public institutions, and humanitarian operations, the session offers a practical blueprint for scaling AI from the laboratory to the field while addressing challenges related to governance, collaboration, and data sharing.

Attendees will gain insights into partnership-driven innovation and practical approaches for translating advanced research into real-world humanitarian impact.
