Peak Schools Ntinda

Peak Schools Ntinda Robotics Team is a group of young Ugandan innovators passionate about using robotics and artificial intelligence to solve real-life challenges in agriculture and food security. Coming from Kampala, Uganda, our team represents the creativity and determination of young people in a developing country where many communities still depend on small-scale farming for survival. Our journey in the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2025/2026 has been one of learning, resilience, teamwork, and growth. We did not begin as experts. In our early testing sessions, our robot frequently missed target plots, pushed fruits outside the field, and sometimes failed to complete missions within the two-minute limit. However, through patience, continuous redesign, coding improvements, and teamwork, we gradually improved our robot’s accuracy, speed, and reliability.

Inspired by the challenge theme on sustainable agriculture, we designed a robot capable of selective planting, irrigation, harvesting, and sorting. Our project reflects challenges faced by many Ugandan farmers, including crop diseases, water scarcity, food waste, and limited access to modern farming technologies. The team strongly believes that robotics should not only be for advanced countries but should also empower children and communities in low-resource settings. Through this challenge, we hope to inspire more African youth to believe that innovation can begin with simple ideas, limited materials, and a strong purpose.

Winning the junior category in Uganda and qualifying for the global finals in Geneva is a proud milestone for us, but we still see ourselves as learners who are improving every day.
