José Suárez-Varela holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2020. Previously, he received his B.Sc and M.Sc. degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universidad de Granada (UGR), in 2014 and 2017 respectively. He is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Barcelona Neural Networking center (BNN-UPC), and is co-Principal Investigator of the EU-funded project IGNNITION (H2020 NGI POINTER program), where his team is developing a framework for fast prototyping of Graph Neural Networks applied to networking (https://ignnition.net). During 2019, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Siena, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Franco Scarselli. His main research interests are in the ﬁeld of Artificial Intelligence applied to networking, and traffic monitoring and analysis.
