Francesco Pirotti

After a one-year study and research period as exchange student at U.C. Berkeley with a grant from Fondazione, Gini Francesco obtained his PhD at University of Padova (UNIPD) with research that focused on satellite image analysis. With his group Francesco is involved in several EU and national research projects with various roles. He authored/co-authored 200+ papers in scientific journals. He is affiliated and proactive in the scientific board of CIRGEO, the Interdepartmental Research Center of Geomatics of UNIPD and in other national and international scientific societies. In 2020 Francesco co-funded and now he is co-director of a one-year master programme on Geostatistics for One Health. He teaches GIS and remote sensing in several courses in environmental sciences programmes. He enjoys to research on new methods for surveying, representing and making sense of spatial data through analysis with novel tools.
