Ariel is the co-founder of Zippedi which was founded with the vision of revolutionizing the way the retail industry operates through AI. Zippedi leveraged its cutting-edge perception technology in image recognition, machine and deep learning, to create a platform that allows retailers and their suppliers to digitalize their on-shelf data to improve the efficiency of their replenishment processes and the level of service they provide to their customers. Hundreds of Zippedi robots are currently deployed at some of the largest US, Latin-American, Australia and European retailers. 

 

Ariel was previously the Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions and co-founder of SCOPIX where he was in charge of strategy and product development working with some of the largest global retailers to devise solutions to improve store execution and customer in-store experience combining data from video analytics and other store systems.  He has extensive experience in operations and strategic consulting.   

 

Prior to launching SCOPIX, Ariel was part of the team that started Matrix Consulting, a boutique management consulting firm in Chile. 

 

Ariel began his career developing mathematical models used by large forest companies to run their operations. As a consultant at Bain & Co. in Boston, MA, he advised clients on a range of strategic issues with a focus on retail and operations.  He later served on the faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Universidad de Chile and has been teaching Executive MBA classes at the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez Business School. 

 

He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Chile.
