As AI reshapes economies and societies, global principles around ethics, safety, and trust are taking shape. But principles alone are not enough. To scale AI responsibly across borders, sectors, and technologies, they must be translated into practical, interoperable frameworks. International standards play a critical role in this transition—from high-level commitments to real-world implementation. By embedding best practices into the design of AI systems, platforms, devices, and data ecosystems, standards enable trust, compatibility, and innovation at scale. Bringing together the leaders of International Organization for Standardization, International Electrotechnical Commission, and the International Telecommunication Union, this session explores how global collaboration on AI standards can ensure systems work seamlessly across ecosystems, reduce fragmentation, and unlock the full potential of AI for global impact.
