Quantum for Good: Industry leadership, innovation and real-world impact

  • Date
    8 July 2026
    Timeframe
    09:00 - 12:15 CEST
    Duration
    3h 15 minutes

Who decides what a technology is good for? Quantum is being built right now, and that answer isn’t fixed yet, it’s still taking shape in the hands of those developing it, and in the questions the rest of us choose to ask. This morning is a chance to see that process up close: explored through stories, played out over a chessboard, expressed through art, and discussed by the people shaping quantum across research, industry, and communities.

      Schedule

Join Kai and Katia for a special live session featuring a screening of highlights from The Quantum Kid, followed by a conversation with Rebecca Krauthamer, CEO and Co-Founder of QuSecure, on how quantum computing will transform cybersecurity and why organisations are already preparing for quantum-safe encryption. The session concludes with a live audience Q&A.

If quantum is built by many hands, whose hands are they? This panel explores the impact on technology itself when the room is more diverse – the problems people choose to solve, the blind spots they catch, the applications they think to build. A conversation about why representation is not just a question of fairness, but a factor that shapes what quantum becomes.

A live showcase that makes quantum ideas intuitive, visual, and playful through chess. As two industry leaders face off across the board, expert commentary will unpack both the moves being played and the concepts they help illuminate.

Quantum technologies are famous for breaking the rules of classical physics. But turning scientific advances into global infrastructure is a different challenge altogether. The future of quantum will depend not only on breakthroughs, but on the standards and frameworks that shape how the technology is deployed and trusted in the real world. Join experts from ITU, ISO and IEC in exploring the foundations being built beneath the quantum revolution.

The United Arab Emirates takes the stage for a live conversation on what is working, what is challenging, and what comes next in the UAE quantum ecosystem. Using the UAE as a lens, this session explores how the region is approaching quantum development, investment, and collaboration, and how artificial intelligence is already helping to accelerate research and shape how new opportunities in quantum are identified and developed.
