Kai “The Quantum Kid” is a young science enthusiast and co-host of The Quantum Kid podcast. Through thoughtful, deep questions asked in a way only a kid can ask, animated facial expressions and boundless curiosity, he helps top quantum scientists and innovators explain complex ideas in simple, engaging ways. His perspective makes cutting-edge topics accessible to audiences of all ages, proving that curiosity is one of the most powerful tools in science – no matter how old you are – and showing that kids as young as primary school age can and should be introduces to broad concepts of quantum computing, as that’s literally their future.

Katia Moskvitch is a science communicator, former BBC and WIRED journalist, who has worked for the past 20 years at the intersection of quantum technology, industry, and society. She is the founder and President of Tesseract Quantum, an educational non-profit aimed at raising awareness around quantum, especially aimed at younger audiences. She co-hosts The Quantum Kid podcast, the flagship show of Tesseract Quantum, together with her 10-year-old son Kai. The approach of this Webby-nominated science podcast with 113k subscribers on YouTube is “explain quantum to me as if I am a kid” – with Kai interviewing top experts, including Peter Shor, John Preskill, Steven Chu, Scott Aaronson, John Martinis, David DiVincenzo and many others in a way only a kid can. The conversations are fun, insightful, and packed with valuable information on quantum and its applications for viewers of all ages.
Katia brings to the show years of storytelling expertise, education in physics, and the ability to put together a polished and impactful broadcasting experience. She wears more than one hat – and her full-time job as Director of Communications and Content Strategy at Quantum Machines greatly contributes to her daily acute awareness of progress in the quantum field and its unstoppable momentum to transform our future. In the past, she worked as the Communications Head for Europe at IBM Research and has been a contributor to the World Economic Forum for many years.
