Explore how AI is delivering real results for cities and communities today.

This high-level workshop on agentic AI, physical AI and the citiverse will spotlight practical deployments, policy priorities, and strategic choices needed to ensure these technologies deliver economic value, resilient public services, and inclusive urban growth, while remaining safe, trusted, and human-centred. This Workshop will bring together ministers, city leaders, and innovators.

Drawing on the work of ITU-T Study Group 20 “IoT, Digital Twin, Smart Sustainable Cities & Communities,” and featuring flagship initiatives such as the Global Initiative on AI and Virtual Worlds – Discovering the Citiverse and the United for Smart Sustainable Cities Initiative (U4SSC), the workshop will present concrete use cases and practical tools, offering clear pathways to move from pilots to implementation, and from innovation to impact.

AI does not reason. It predicts. It can be wrong and still sound right. As AI becomes embedded in city services, infrastructure, and the AI-enabled citiverse, a critical question emerges: who still decides, and who remains accountable? This keynote explores why, in an age of intelligent systems, human judgment and responsibility must remain at the centre of every decision that affects people's lives.

How can leaders harness AI and the AI-enabled citiverse to drive economic growth, transform public services, and shape the future of cities and communities? Ministers, mayors, and industry leaders will discuss the strategic choices, policy priorities, investment approaches, and leadership models needed to accelerate AI-enabled transformation, unlock the potential of the AI-enabled citiverse, and turn emerging technologies into tangible outcomes for people, businesses, and governments.

AI is moving beyond analysis to autonomous action. This keynote explores how agentic AI, digital twins, and the citiverse are enabling cities to simulate, predict, coordinate, and act across complex urban systems, transforming how cities are managed and experienced.

Turning ambition into impact requires more than technology. This session highlights practical experiences from governments and cities deploying AI, IoT, and digital twins at scale, sharing lessons on implementation, institutional readiness, workforce skills, and capacity development. Speakers will explore how cities can strengthen local capabilities, build the right partnerships, and move from pilot projects to sustainable, city-wide transformation that delivers measurable benefits for citizens.

AI can only scale if systems work together and people trust them. This session examines how international standards, interoperability frameworks, and trusted digital infrastructures provide the foundation for accessible, secure, and human-centred AI deployment across cities and communities.

What does it take to turn the promise of AI-enabled cities into reality? This keynote presents a practical framework of the foundational capabilities cities need to harness AI, digital twins, immersive technologies, and intelligent infrastructure to create more resilient, inclusive, and people-centred urban futures.
