Christina Kitsos

Christina Kitsos is the Mayor of Geneva and a member of the city’s Executive Council (Administrative Council), where she heads the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity. She previously served as Mayor for the 2024–2025 term and was re-elected to the Executive Council in April 2025.

With over fifteen years of experience in public administration and legislative affairs, Ms. Kitsos has developed extensive expertise in governance, institutional relations, and migration policies. Prior to her executive role, she served as a member of the Parliament of the City of Geneva (2015–2020) and the Parliament of Neuchâtel (2005–2008), where her public service career began in the Youth Parliament. Her professional background includes holding senior roles within Geneva’s Department of Public Education, Training, and Youth, where she served as Deputy Secretary-General and Director of Communications.

Ms. Kitsos holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Geneva, a Master’s degree in Modern Literature from the Sorbonne-Paris IV, and a Master’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences from the University of Neuchâtel, specializing in philosophy, communication, and journalism.
