    Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming a key driver of digital transformation, economic growth, and social innovation worldwide. As countries and organizations accelerate the adoption of AI technologies, there is increasing demand for practical approaches to assess national and institutional readiness for AI development and deployment. 

    AI readiness goes beyond technological capability. It also includes governance, policy frameworks, digital infrastructure, data ecosystems, talent development, capacity building, and international cooperation. In this context, the ITU AI Readiness Framework aims to support governments and stakeholders in evaluating their current AI ecosystem, identifying gaps, and developing actionable pathways for responsible and inclusive AI development. 

    This workshop brings together experts from international organizations, governments, academia, and regional initiatives to exchange views on AI readiness trends, regional experiences, and implementation practices. The event will also provide a platform for discussing practical experiences related to the implementation of the ITU AI Readiness Framework and opportunities for future collaboration.

    The keynote session will provide high-level perspectives on the evolving global AI landscape and the growing importance of AI readiness in supporting sustainable digital transformation. Speakers from international organizations and government institutions will share strategic insights into AI governance, digital innovation, data ecosystems, and international cooperation frameworks that can help countries and organizations strengthen their preparedness for AI adoption.
    The session will also explore emerging trends, policy priorities, and practical approaches for building inclusive, trustworthy, and human-centric AI ecosystems. Through diverse institutional and regional perspectives, the keynote session aims to provide participants with a broader understanding of current opportunities and challenges in advancing

    This session will explore the current state of AI readiness across different regions, focusing on policy development, governance, digital infrastructure, talent development, and implementation challenges. Panelists will share regional perspectives, practical experiences, and priorities for advancing inclusive and sustainable AI ecosystems.

    This session presents the ongoing discussions between ITU, UN organizations and regional organizations on the AI Readiness, in the context of ITU AI Readiness Framework, UNESCO RAM, UNDP AILA, and OECD AI policy. The session would include (i) presentation from UN organizations on lessons learned and experiences on converging towards a shared description of AI Readiness, (ii) their respective mapping to assessment tools on AI readiness and landscape and (iii) ongoing discussions towards a blueprint that guides framework selection, assessment, and follow-up across the UN system.
