How would you describe the scholar program in your own words?

The AI for Good Scholars program is for students, researchers, and engineers in STEM fields who are interested in using AI to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It seeks 

individuals dedicated to solving global issues and collaborating with diverse teams. Scholars work remotely to analyze AI use cases, receive resources like guidance and mentorship from ITU experts, and attend global summits and conferences to share insights and learn from AI experts worldwide.

What activities did you participate in during the scholar program, including the trips? 

During the AI for Good Scholars program, I participated in various activities focused on leveraging AI to address global challenges. I collaborated with diverse teams of other scholars to analyze AI use cases aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I received valuable guidance and mentorship from the ITU team, enhancing my research capabilities. Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva and the World Artificial 

Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, China, where I shared insights gained from my work and learned from AI experts worldwide. I also had the opportunity to visit different AI project stands,  where I explored the real-life applications of AI. These trips provided a platform for networking and furthering my understanding of AI’s potential in solving real-world problems. 

In what ways did you benefit from the scholar program?

 The AI for Good Scholars program boosted my understanding of how AI can tackle global issues, especially related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. I got invaluable advice and mentoring from ITU experts, which really sharpened my research skills and career path. Working with fellow scholars worldwide taught me much about collaboration and connected me with professionals across different fields. Attending global summits and conferences expanded my knowledge and allowed me to share ideas with top AI experts in the global. Overall, the program has boosted my career in AI and broadened my skills in sustainable development.
