How would you describe the AI Scholar Program in your own words?
The AI Scholar Program was a remarkable effort that gathered scholars from different backgrounds to discover the captivating realm of artificial intelligence. As a participant, I experienced an immersive journey into AI that blended intense learning sessions and invaluable mentorship. The program not only deepened my understanding of AI concepts but also equipped me with practical skills to tackle real-world challenges. It was a community-driven experience, connecting me with fellow scholars and experts passionate about AI’s potentials.
What activities did you participate in during the scholar program, including the trips?
During the AI Scholar Program, I had the privilege of engaging in various activities that significantly broadened my understanding of AI. I participated in insightful workshops and thought-provoking panel discussions on July 5. The workshop held inside the museum was particularly memorable, as I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the exhibits, learn from them, and capture some incredible pictures. Additionally, on July 4, I attended the launching ceremony for the publication of the use cases, and also I watched a short video featuring authors discussing their new book on how to use AI safely. This experience provided me with a broader perspective and expanded my thinking about AI.
Moreover, the program facilitated wonderful connections. Innocent, Shadia, and I were fortunate enough to book the same hotel, enabling us to explore the city together, visit local attractions, dine at various restaurants, and engage in cultural exchanges with the people we encountered along the way.
In what ways did you benefit from the scholar program?
The AI Scholar Program offered immense personal and professional benefits. It expanded my knowledge and deepened my understanding of AI technologies, ethics, and governance. Interacting with industry professionals and scholars from different disciplines enriched my perspective and broadened my horizons. The program also provided an invaluable networking platform, allowing me to forge meaningful connections within the AI community, which I believe will prove invaluable for future collaborations and opportunities.
One significant impact of the program was in shaping my research paper. It inspired me to update my topic, focusing more on “Generative AI for Identifying Malicious AI-Generated Content.”
