Prof. Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman, the Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG), is a global thought leader on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and technology governance, with over a decade of active engagement in G7 and G20 communities. He has led around 20 policy briefs and co-chaired task forces for both G7 and G20, contributing to international discussions on AI governance, digital inclusion, cyber resilience, and emerging technologies.

An MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Prof. Syed Munir Khasru (www.syedmunirkhasru.org) founded and built two internationally recognized knowledge institutions from the developing Global South, IPAG and e.Gen Consultants Ltd. Under his leadership, IPAG has emerged as a respected international think tank advancing policy and strategy on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cyber security, data governance, and the implications of emerging technologies for sustainable development. Prof. Khasru’s multidisciplinary expertise and active engagement with multilateral platforms have enabled him to bridge technology policy with practical development challenges, particularly in ensuring that AI and digital innovation contribute to inclusive growth and equitable outcomes for developing countries.

Prof. Khasru will make the keynote speech in the session: on “AI and hardware: The rising cost of digital entry and widening digital divide” to be held on July 8 (Wed), 2026 from 11:00 – 11:30 CEST at the Solutions Stage, AI for Good Global Summit, Palexpo, International Exhibition and Convention Center, Geneva which is jointly organized by the ITU and IPAG. Prof. Khasru will be joined by leading experts from the UN, tech industry, think tanks, and academia.
