Stefan Williams

Stefan Williams is the Director of the Digital Sciences Initiative at the University of Sydney and Professor of Marine Robotics at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics where he leads the ACFR Marine Systems group.   Stefan’s research focuses on navigation, mapping, planning and control of autonomous marine systems. He also interprets the data collected by these systemsHe has led research cruises to sites around Australia and overseas deploying AUV as part of studies in marine engineering, ecology, geoscience and archaeologyStefan received his PhD from the University of Sydney in 2002 and completed a Bachelor of Applied Science with first class honours in 1997 at the University of Waterloo, Canada.
