Secure Forests CIC

Secure Forests CIC

Secure Forests CIC designs and leads holistic forest security programs that combine data-driven enforcement, with invested communities and action against the illegal trades.

The Forest Domain Awareness System consists of above canopy sensor systems such as satellites and below canopy sensors such as the Guardian acoustic sensor. The Guardian uses AI technology to listen to the Forest and select frequencies that indicate illegal activity such as chainsaws. This acoustic event is then alerted live to the Ranger via an application on his phone, in order he can make an informed decision on the appropriate action. This could be to send a patrol or a drone to look at the area where the chainsaw was indicated. Each Guardian has an 3.5km acoustic range.
