Merve Armağan Boğatekin

Dr. Merve Armağan Boğatekin is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Health Sciences in Türkiye and part-time faculty at Ibn Haldun University. She holds a PhD in Applied Psychology and Prevention Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and has collaborated on research with Harvard University, Stanford University, and the United Nations.

Her work sits at the intersection of psychology, technology, and structural inequality, examining how language, culture, and socioeconomic contexts shape people’s experiences with emerging technologies. Her research focuses on digital well-being, cyberbullying, cyber-racism, artificial intelligence, and the psychological dimensions of the global digital divide.

Dr. Boğatekin is the author of Transforming Community Health with Psychology and AI (Wiley), which explores culturally responsive approaches to reducing health disparities through AI. She is also the recipient of the Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her contributions to youth leadership and social impact initiatives.

At the AI for Good Global Summit, she brings a human-centered perspective to discussions on equity, inclusion, and accessibility in AI systems.
