Dr. Nickel earned his PhD in Computer Science summa cum laude from Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität in Munich, Germany, and completed his postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was jointly appointed to the Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines and the Laboratory for Computational and Statistical Learning.
