Mario Tavares Moyron

Mario Tavares-Moyron is Chief Privacy Officer at Genesys, where he leads the company’s global privacy strategy and drives its AI governance program alongside cross-functional leadership. His remit covers data protection compliance, strategic advisory, cloud sovereignty, cross-border operations, and the adjacent regulatory stack.

A seasoned professional at the intersection of privacy law, technology regulation and compliance, and cloud computing law, Mario has held senior roles across Europe and the Americas. He now orchestrates the privacy compliance and strategic counseling for Genesys, spanning every major regulatory region globally. He has advised organisations in the technology and financial services sectors on European, US and LATAM legislations. His expertise also extends to international standards and risk frameworks, cross-border data transfers, and complex technology transactions –as a counsel, data protection officer, and compliance officer.

Beyond his corporate role, Mario has contributed to civil society research and publishing on digital rights, data protection, competition law, and social affairs, serving as author, editor, and research division lead.

He has previously presented at forums such as the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and at the IAPP’s AI Governance Global Europe.
