Lila Ibrahim

Lila Ibrahim is the COO of Google DeepMind, a world leading AI research company that aims to solve intelligence to advance science and benefit humanity. She leads a broad range of functions, including Operations, Governance and Ethics, Policy, Communications, and People & Culture. She plays a key role spearheading the company’s work on critical issues involving the intersection of AI and society, which includes chairing DeepMind’s cross-functional responsibility and AI for Good initiatives.

Lila has helped grow some of the world’s leading technology companies during her 30 year career including Intel, where she held a series of global engineering, technology, and management roles; venture firm Kleiner Perkins; and Coursera, where she was the President, CBO and COO and helped bring education to millions of people around the world. She is the co-founder and Chair of education technology non-profit Team4Tech and previously served on the Board of Gannett, helping it become the largest US print media company. Lila is a 2007 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a 2011 Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute, and a recipient of the Anita Borg Institute’s award for Social Impact. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and was honored by the university as a 2021 Distinguished Engineering Alumnae.
