Joseph Alderman

Dr Joseph Alderman is an anaesthetist and intensive care physician, and a doctoral research fellow at the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on predictive models which are used throughout healthcare – how can we ensure these data-driven tools are safe and effective for everyone? He is one of the lead researchers for the STANDING Together initiative, creating international recommendations to improve the way data is selected and used to create AI health technologies. Joe is also co-organiser of the Alan Turing Institute’s Clinical AI interest group, and co-lead for the Participatory Research Theme at Data Science for Health Equity (DSxHE).
