High payload coaxial-tricopter for manufacturing and repair operations

High payload coaxial-tricopter for manufacturing and repair operations

The high payload coaxial-tricopter is designed for large-scale aerial additive manufacturing and repair operations. Capable of carrying an 8 kg payload with a flight endurance of 10 minutes, the system features a delta manipulator with freedom in all 3 spatial dimensions which provides stabilisation to improve precision at the tooltip. On-board localisation with a 3D lidar has been tested to allow the system to operate in real outdoors environments. The system is designed to demonstrate a large-scale, outdoor 3D print and to demonstrate deposition of material to repair existing infrastructure.
