Elly Mulaha

Elly Mulaha is an information and knowledge management specialist with nearly 14 years of experience driving data-led innovation across the humanitarian and development sectors—and now at the forefront of applying artificial intelligence to transform how that work gets done. He has worked with the United Nations, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and other leading international organisations, supporting frontline operations in some of the world’s most complex emergency contexts.
Elly’s work sits at the powerful intersection of AI and humanitarian action, where he is increasingly building intelligent data systems and AI-driven information management tools that help field teams make faster, safer, and more evidence-based decisions—often when the stakes could not be higher. His expertise spans machine learning and applied AI, data analytics and visualization, SaaS platform design, the Microsoft Power Platform, and leading mobile data collection tools including KoboCollect, ActivityInfo, CommCare, GBVIMS+/Primero, and SurveyCTO.
He is currently pursuing a master’s in computer science with Artificial Intelligence at the University of Hertfordshire, deepening his expertise in applied AI for humanitarian innovation. Above all, Elly is driven by a commitment to responsible AI, data ethics, and building intelligent technologies that keep frontline workers—and the communities they serve—at the very centre of design.
