CYB3R h@CK3RS is a junior robotics team from Bolder Learner Tech School (BLTS), Nairobi, Kenya. The team comprises five students — Ari Munene, Gabby Njeri, Talia Nyawira, Kian Jibo, and Keli Kieti — aged 10 to 14, competing in the Junior category of the AI for Good Robotics Youth Challenge 2026.

The team set out to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing Africa: food insecurity driven by inefficient, labour-intensive, and resource-wasteful farming practices. Millions of smallholder farmers across the continent rely entirely on manual methods, resulting in low crop yields, poor water management, and significant post-harvest losses. CYB3R h@CK3RS asked a simple question: what if a robot could help?

Their answer is Agrobot X — an autonomous farming robot designed to plant seeds, irrigate crops intelligently, harvest produce, and sort it efficiently. Programmed in Python on the VEX IQ platform, Agrobot X uses a motorised storage claw for seed planting and irrigation, a motorised fruit collector for harvesting, and a four-wheel drive system for stability and precision movement across the competition field.

The team chose Python over block code and C++ because it offered the best balance of flexibility and control — enabling them to write efficient code for sensors and movement that simpler drag-and-drop tools could not handle.
CYB3R h@CK3RS are national champions of the AI for Good Robotics Youth Challenge Kenya 2026, having placed first in the junior category at the national competition held on 9 May 2026, where they competed against over 56 teams (originally) from across Kenya. They now travel to Geneva to represent their country and continent on the global stage — bringing with them a robot, a solution, and the belief that young Africans can lead the future of technology-driven agriculture.
