Chanda Gonzales-Mowrer is the Chief Officer of Prize Operations where she oversees all aspects of the global competitions that the XPRIZE executes. She is also the former Executive Director of the Google Lunar XPRIZE. Prior to coming to the Foundation, Chanda ran academic research programs for the University of California Land Grant Universities (Riverside, Berkeley and Davis campuses) that looked at the importance of reengineering policy to better serve its communities. She has worked with a variety of government institutions like the U.S. Office of Secretary Defense, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Interior, European Union and local city governments, as well as for-profit entities like Bank of America and Accenture, in developing programs that supported environmental, financial, citizenship, and science-based learning. Her home is in Oakland, California. She loves her home sports teams and enjoys traveling with her husband and 7-year-old daughter.
