Brian Scassellati

Brian Scassellati is the A. Bartlett Giamatti Professor of Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Yale University, with an additional appointment in the Cognitive Science Program.  His research is highly interdisciplinary and focuses on human-robot interaction, social learning, and robots that provide social and cognitive support.  He was a 2020 AAAS Leshner fellow for public engagement, a 2018 Whitney Humanities Fellow, and is currently a member of the governing board (Councilor) of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).  He received the 2020 Dylan Hixon ’88 Prize for Teaching Excellence at Yale, a 2007 Alfred P. Sloan fellowship, a 2003 NSF Career award, and 9 best paper awards or nominations.
