This talk looks into current proposals to regulate the use of AI. After the publication of numerous ethical frameworks and strategies concerning AI, we now enter a phase of proposals for legal regulations of AI. The presentation will highlight major approaches and differences in that regard. It will comment on recent proposals or laws from Brazil, China, the European Union, Germany, France, and the United States. It will follow up on the question of whether and how legal regulation adds to the goal of creating trustworthy AI.
