The ITU AI Readiness indicates the ease and the ability to reap benefits of AI integration in various domains. Backed by AI use cases and ITU AI Readiness Plugfest projects, supported by ITU cloud credits, in different domains, a bottom-up approach is followed, allowing us to find common patterns, metrics, and evaluation mechanisms for the integration of AI in these domains. The framework identifies six key factors of AI readiness: open data, research collaboration, deployment support, standards, open source/code, and sandbox environments; and self-evaluation dimensions and metrics. Standards gaps identified as part of the plugfest project analysis for the AI Readiness framework and proposed by members in ITU Study Groups.

This fifth edition of the workshop will highlight the ongoing analysis of AI use cases and their input into the ITU AI Readiness Framework. Integration of the ITU AI Readiness framework into national AI strategies and the practical way of improving the AI Readiness level through the ITU AI for Good Sandbox initiative will be discussed alongside the policymakers.
