The ITU GeoAI Challenge aims to provide a platform for collaboratively addressing real-world geospatial problems by applying artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The goal of this challenge  is to use machine learning to produce landslide susceptibility mapping for the Valtellina Valley, Northern Italy. Those maps can help local authorities plan and implement sustainable development measures, reduce the risk of landslides, and ensure the safety of communities living in high-risk areas.

This challenge contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 11 and 13, which focus on creating sustainable and resilient cities and combating climate change effects, respectively.

This Challenge is curated by GeoLab (Politecnico di Milano)
