James A. Grieve

Dr. James A. Grieve is Senior Director of Quantum Communications at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he leads a multidisciplinary team developing next-generation quantum-secure communication technologies. His current work spans quantum key distribution over metropolitan fibre networks, satellite-based quantum communications, and the development of optical ground station infrastructure for space-to-ground quantum links.

Dr. Grieve completed his PhD at the University of Bristol in 2012 and went on to hold research positions at Singapore’s Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), where he served as a Visiting Research Associate Professor. His research interests include single photons, integrated photonics, and quantum networks, and he has published widely in peer-reviewed journals across these fields.

A regular speaker at international forums on quantum technology and cybersecurity, Dr. Grieve is a recognised voice on preparing global communication infrastructure for the quantum era.
