Em Lenartowicz

Dr. Em Lenartowicz is a social scientist specialising in collective intelligence, complexity, and the governance of sociotechnical systems. A senior researcher at the Center Leo Apostel for Interdisciplinary Studies (CLEA), Vrije Universiteit Brussel, since 2014, she served as managing director of the Global Brain Institute and founding director of the Postgraduate School of Thinking VUB. She developed the AI Commons (AIC) Framework – a modular licensing instrument for governing the operational terms on which AI capabilities circulate through value chains – and coordinates its international working group, currently hosted at CLEA. She serves on the Steering Committee of the UN “AI for Good” Impact Initiative and is an executive fellow of NuNet, a decentralised computing infrastructure project.
