Yanan Xin

Dr. Yanan Xin is an assistant professor at the Department of Transport and Planning at TU Delft, co-director of the DAIMoND (Digitization and AI for Mobility Network Dynamics) lab in the Netherlands. With a goal of promoting responsible AI transformation in transportation, her research interests and methodologies cover interpretable machine learning, spatial causal inference, mobility-based anomaly detection, and the intersection between mobility and energy. Before joining TU Delft, she was a Senior Assistant and Lecturer at ETH Zurich, leading the Mobility Information Engineering Lab. She received a Master of Urban Spatial Analytics degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD degree in Geography (Specialization: Geographic Information Science) from the Pennsylvania State University.
