Steven Gemmel

Steven Gemmel is Microsoft’s Global Lead for International Organizations, overseeing strategic engagement with the United Nations, international financial institutions, and the Red Cross movement. Based in Geneva, he works with global institutions to harness artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and digital transformation to advance their missions and deliver greater impact.

With more than a decade of experience at Microsoft, Steven has advised senior technology and business leaders on modernizing operations, improving organizational resilience, and responsibly adopting emerging technologies. His work focuses on translating rapidly evolving innovations—particularly generative AI and AI agents—into practical strategies that address the distinctive governance, security, funding, and operational realities of international organizations.

Steven is a frequent contributor to discussions on AI for good, the changing role of technology leaders, and the future of mission-driven work. He is passionate about helping institutions move beyond experimentation and use technology responsibly at scale to improve outcomes for the people and communities they serve.
