Samantha Maloney

Samantha Maloney is known as one of the most respected female drummers in the music business. Classically trained as a percussionist, she is an alum of New York City’s prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Samantha has toured the globe numerous times, playing drums in such bands as Hole, Mötley Crüe, Eagles of Death Metal, Peaches, The Crystal Method, and Billy Ray Cyrus to name a few.

Her musical talent expands beyond the drums to writing, composing, and producing chart topping music, and contributing to various film scores and soundtracks, including working alongside Hans Zimmer on the Oscar winning film BLACK HAWK DOWN. As an actor, she has appeared in various movies and on TV, including her recurring role as “Sam” on Showtime’s CALIFORNICATION. Samantha served and writer, host and producer for ManiaTV’s highest rated series ALL ACCESS for two seasons, interviewing then unknown artists Lady
Gaga, Katy Perry and Sia, as well as music icons Tool, REM, and Wu-Tang Clan. NBC’s NEXT GREAT FAMILY BAND featured Samantha as one of three expert judges for their weekly nationally syndicated competition.

In 2010, she founded a successful music management company in Los Angeles, eventually expanding its reach globally by partnering with one of the biggest talent agencies in Europe. In 2014, Samantha became Vice President of A&R at Warner Bros. Records where she signed and developed new talent at the storied label, while also working closely with music icons Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart.

Concurrently, she recorded and co-produced a 34-piece orchestra for Disturbed’s Simon and Garfunkel cover of “Sound of Silence,” which received a Grammy nomination and became their biggest selling record to date. Most recently Samantha has been writing and producing female focused music documentaries. In 2021, Netflix released COUNT ME IN, a documentary that featured Samantha’s musical journey alongside some of the biggest and most notable drummers in the music business.
