Roberta Roberto

Roberta Roberto is AI Project Manager at Telit Cinterion, where she leads research and development initiatives in the field of Edge AI, driving the adoption of artificial intelligence across industrial and connected-device environments.

In addition to managing a funded project focused on Edge AI applications for her Italian region, she contributes to the company’s global AI Innovation Program, working across international teams to foster knowledge sharing, coordinate global hackathons, and support cross-functional collaboration. Her work focuses on translating emerging AI technologies into practical business and engineering outcomes, bridging strategy, research, and execution.

Within her role at Telit Cinterion, she is also actively involved in academia–industry collaboration, supervising multiple Master’s theses conducted in partnership with universities. These activities span several domains of Edge AI and intelligent systems, including computer vision, pattern recognition, audio processing, as well as embedded AI applications.

She also serves as Council Member of the Order of Engineers and as National Delegate for STEMinsieme, the Equal Opportunities program coordinated by the National Council of Engineers (CNI). In this role, she designs and coordinates collaborative workshops involving companies, educators, and students, aimed at promoting diversity, inclusion, and balanced participation in STEM pathways, with particular attention to mixed-team dynamics.

In parallel, she founded the Telit Cinterion outreach program for middle and high schools, where she is engaged in educational initiatives aimed at bringing engineering and AI closer to younger generations through direct interaction in classrooms and exposure to role models.

Her professional activity spans industrial innovation, applied research, higher education, and public engagement, with a focus on building concrete connections between technology, people, and society.
