Raji Baskaran

Dr. Rajashree (“Raji”) Baskaran is the Founder and CEO of Project Karna Inc., focused on restoring trust in digital communication systems in the era of generative AI. She leads the company’s technology vision, R&D roadmap, and go-to-market strategy.

Raji is a seasoned deep-tech leader with over 20 years of experience spanning AI/ML, cybersecurity, human-machine interfaces, and semiconductor systems. She spent over 15 years at Intel Corporation, where she held leadership roles across R&D, engineering, and enterprise AI/NLP product development.

She is a prolific innovator with 40+ patents and numerous research publications. Her contributions to the industry have been recognized with her induction into the SEMI MEMS & Sensors Industry Hall of Fame in 2017. She was recently conferred with the “SheShapesAI Women in AI Award” by Persistent Systems, recognizing her contributions to advancing AI innovation. She has led multi-year DARPA-funded initiatives and served as Principal Investigator on U.S. Department of Defense AI programs focused on advanced geospatial text understanding.

Beyond her operating role, Raji is an affiliate professor at the University of Washington and an active participant in the venture ecosystem as a venture partner and advisor to deep-tech startups, particularly in IoT, MEMS, and semiconductor markets.

She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.S. from Cornell University, and a B.Tech from IIT Madras.
