Patrick Meier

Dr. Patrick Meier is an internationally recognized expert in Humanitarian Technology, having spearheaded numerous next-generation humanitarian technology projects with 30+ organizations and companies, including the United Nations, Red Cross, World Bank, Planet Labs, and Facebook. In 2010, he was publicly praised by President Clinton for his leadership and expertise in humanitarian technology. In 2015, he authored the seminal book entitled, Digital Humanitarians, which was praised by experts at the UN, Red Cross, World Bank, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Oxford. Dr. Meier currently serves as the Executive Director of WeRobotics where he leads strategy and operations for the deployment of robotics in both disaster management (data collection) and public health (medical delivery). He holds fellowships from MIT Solve, Stanford, Harvard, Rockefeller Foundation, UBS Global Visionaries, UNICEF Innovations, and National Geographic. In addition, Dr. Meier is a distinguished scholar with a Ph.D. from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship from Stanford University, an MA from Columbia University, and was a visiting student at UC Berkeley. Last but most importantly, he was born and raised in Africa.
