Mohamad Hakam SHAMS EDDIN

Mohamad Hakam Shams Eddin is a PhD candidate working in the Computer Vision Group at the University of Bonn and a member of the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Hakam received both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Geomatics Engineering. During his doctoral studies, he worked within the “Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 1502 – DETECT” and he is part of the “RAINA Nowcasting” Project. His main research focuses on the development of deep learning methods for forecasting and early warning systems using remote sensing and climate data. Throughout his PhD, he has developed new techniques based on deep learning to forecast impacts of extreme weather events and to identify their underlying drivers.
