Mike Mullane

Mike Mullane

Mike Mullane is the Deputy Director of Communications at the IEC and has extensive experience in public affairs and strategic communications. His role focuses on raising awareness about the benefits of international standards and the role they can play in addressing societal concerns about AI and other emerging technologies.

Mike is currently a vice-chair of the Collaboration on Standards for Authenticity of AI and Multimedia. The Collaboration brings IEC, ISO and ITU together with a broad range of other organizations that share a common belief in the power of standards to restore trust in online photos and video.

Mike originally trained as a broadcast journalist and spent most of his career working in and for public service media before joining the IEC.
