Martin Ludvigsen

Martin Ludvigsen (1977) has been a Professor at the Department of Marine Technology, NTNU since 2014. His research interests cover the field of underwater vehicles including perception and interpretation of cameras and sonar data together with autonomy. Adaptive mission planning for one or more vehicles for ocean column mapping has also been a focus point for his research group.

He is co-founder and manager for the Applied Underwater Laboratory (AUR-Lab) at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. The AUR-Lab (https://www.ntnu.edu/web/aur-lab/aur-lab) facilitates research within both engineering disciplines and marine science by providing ROV, AUV and USV operations. Ludvigsen has long experience at-sea both in arctic waters as well as in benthic environments associated with the Norwegian mid-ocean ridge. He has been involved research projects both in the deep sea, the upper water column and arctic deploying robotic underwater vehicles.
