Marilena Hyeraci

Marilena Hyeraci is Of Counsel at Chiomenti Law Firm, where she advises international groups and leading Italian companies on personal data protection, cybersecurity, AI and digital laws and regulations. In this role, she supports clients on data governance strategies, compliance with Italian and European digital strategy, including the General Data Protection Regulation, the AI Act, the NIS2 Directive and the DORA Regulation, the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act. Marilena typically provides strategic advice in the context of data-driven litigations and transactions, as well as in the management of IT incidents, disclosures to authorities and related investigations.

Marilena joined Chiomenti in 2022, after having worked for more than 10 years with a large international law firm. Over the course of her 20-year career, she has also advised on strategic and cross-border matters involving cybercrime, fraud and corruption, as well as on the implementation of organizational models pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree No. 231 of 2001 and risk assessment and internal investigations.

She is recognized as a leader in the legal field by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal, and was named among the top 50 Italian Role Models by Legal Community in 2022 and among the 10 most influential compliance professionals in Italy by the Business Today Lawyer Awards in 2023.

A frequent speaker at conferences in Italy and abroad, Marilena is the author of numerous publications and articles and the founder of a Diversity & Inclusion community. She is a member of the Milan Bar Association and holds a Law Degree from the Catholic University of Milan, with postgraduate studies in White Collar Crimes, International and European Law, and in Data Protection and Cybersecurity.
