Marie-José (JoJo) Bahnam is the Senior Director of Foundation Priorities at XPRIZE. With more than 14 years of experience leading teams in management consulting and education, and advising educational nonprofits on business strategy, she oversees the execution of XPRIZE’s integrated business plan and is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects across the organization.
Prior to joining XPRIZE, JoJo was a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting where she led projects ranging from strategy development to implementation for major clients in the technology, education, financial services and retail industries. At Deloitte JoJo also led all efforts related to the firm’s relationship with Harvard University, programming to encourage greater diversity in the technology organization, and numerous education-focused initiatives. Leading up to her consulting career, JoJo was a high school math teacher in Boston and a nonprofit leader at Citizen Schools, Inc., where she developed curriculum, trained teachers, built and nurtured partnerships with universities and high schools, and guided eighth-grade students and their families in Boston’s high-school selection process.
In her spare time, JoJo advises leaders of education-focused nonprofit organizations on various business strategies. JoJo holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Master of Education from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Art History from Boston University.
